I Was Burnt Out, Numb, and Tired of Being Told to Be Grateful — Here’s What Actually Helped
I think some of you may get it when I say that gratitude can feel like a lie. Forced. Fake. Rainbows and unicorns.
Social media left me in twitchy panics because it was all good vibes, high vibes, and very much “tsk tsk shame on you” to anyone who wasn’t on board.
Everyone was doing their morning routines and daily gratitudes and high-vibe rituals… and I was just trying to keep my eyes open and my kids alive.
Gratitude, they said, would change my life.
But I couldn’t FEEL gratitude. I could logically think about what I was grateful for, but it stopped there. As a thought. Which then made me feel defective and hopeless.
My mind and body had been stuck in survival mode and fight or flight for so long that these “guaranteed to change your life” fixes only seemed to push me further into the mess.
I needed rest.
I needed safety.
I needed something that didn’t ask me to pretend I wasn’t hurting.
If you’ve ever felt that too — like you should be thankful, but the only thing you can muster is “I’m still here”… I want you to know you’re not broken.
You’re spark-depleted.
And spark-depleted women don’t need more rules or routines — we need magic.
Small. Gentle. Quiet magic.
That’s why I created 30 Days of Magic.
It’s a digital journal that offers:
✨ One simple question a day
✨ A “magic shift” that doesn’t require toxic positivity
✨ A few seconds of pause that feel like… exhale
✨ And zero guilt if you miss a day
It’s a journal, yes — but more than that, it’s a daily nudge to believe that something good is still possible.
Not perfect. Not forced. Just… possible.
And when you’re coming back from burnout or emotional depletion, that possibility is everything.
So if you’re tired of being told to manifest harder or smile through the ache…
Try a different kind of magic.
The quiet kind. The real kind.
The kind that waits patiently while you slowly, softly come back to life.
